Puff the magic dragon lived by the sea

Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal Puff
and brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff

어린 꼬마 재키 페이퍼는 장난꾸러기 퍼프를 사랑했고,

그 밖에 다른 좋아하는 것들을 가져다 주었죠

Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sails.
Jackie kept a lookout perched on Puff's gigantic tail
Noble kings and princess would bow when there they came.
Pirate ships would lower their flads
when Puff roared out his name.
 
재키와 퍼프 둘은 배를 타고 여행을 떠났죠
재키는 퍼프의 큰 꼬리에 앉아 망을 보았죠
그들이 올 때면
위엄있는 왕과 공주들은 항상 절했고
퍼프가 자신의 이름을 부르며 소리를 지르면
해적은 깃발을 내렸더랬죠

A dragon lives forever but not so little boys
Painted wings and giants rings make way for other toys.
One gray night it happened Jackie Paper came no more
And Puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.
 
드래곤은 죽지 않지만 사람들은 그렇지 못하죠
예쁘게 꾸민 날개와 거대한 반지가 이제 그들의 장난감이죠
어느 어두운 밤, 재키 페이퍼는 더이상 오지 못하죠
용감한 공룡 퍼프도 두려움 모르던 포효를 부르짖지 않았죠...
 
 His head was bent in sorrow.
Grief scales fell like rain
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane.
Without his lifelong friend, Puff could not be brave.
So Puff that mighty dragon, sadly slipped into his cave.
 
퍼프는 슬픔으로 고개를 숙이고
슬픔으로 비늘은 비내리듯 떨어졌죠
퍼프는 더이상 체니 레인에 놀러가지 않았죠
평생을 함께 할 친구가 없기에 퍼프는 용감해 질 수가 없지요
그래서 용감한 용 퍼프는, 동굴 속으로 들어가버렸답니다....
